PARENTAL CONCERN

We understand that thousands of parents will be trusting us with their children’s safety every year, and the significance of this is not something we take lightly. That is why we have a substantial variety of safety measures in place to ensure that parents have peace of mind when sending their children to Plett Rage. These measures include medical assistance, student assistance, and security.

We want to assure you that Plett Rage is not the extreme drinking event that some sensational journalism might suggest. In fact, we’ve noticed a significant shift in the behaviour and attitudes of Matrics attending our festival over the last five years. They have become more responsible and focused on healthy living and party habits.

Our festival is committed to promoting a safe and healthy environment for all attendees. We’ve seen a rise in the popularity of sugar-free and healthy drink options, opting for less single-use plastics, and many attendees are practicing less alcohol consumption. We’re proud to be part of this positive change and support it through our festival offerings.

We acknowledge that risks are still associated with any large-scale event, but we want to assure you that we take every precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of all those attending Plett Rage. We have implemented strict security measures and emergency protocols to handle any situation that may arise.

We hope that this information helps ease any concerns you may have.

Security is covered by several different roleplayers. These include PBCPA, the SA police, The Metro Police, and Plett Security. In addition, we have also enlisted the services of Apex Protection Services as our Security supplier who specialize in events and have been working with us for many years.

Security cameras will also form part of our security network in 2024. This network will be managed by Plett Security, assisted with all their resources inclusive of their control room. The setup of security cameras will also aid with recorded video surveillance day and night.

Our medical assistance is covered by MedLife911. They will be stationed at each venue to provide any required medical attention to Ragers for the duration of the event. There will also be a separate response vehicle at each station in the unlikely event that one is required.

Although we take every possible precaution to ensure the safety of each and every Rager, the process of education really does begin at home. We strongly encourage all parents to begin open and honest dialogues with their children around partying responsibly. By discussing topics such as alcohol consumption openly, you can help prepare your child to behave responsibly and take care of themselves during their time with us.

Children who are comfortable discussing these topics with their parents are also far more likely to reach out to one of the many members of our student aid initiatives should they need assistance of any kind during the festival.

Direct student assistance will also be provided by Red Frogs, Amplified, and Plett Shepherds. These groups will mingle with the crowd and provide assistance to any Ragers who may need it. They are trained to assist with anything from excessive alcohol consumption to Ragers who have been separated from their friends, and will also take any Rager who needs it to seek further assistance from security or the medics.

With all of these protocols in place, we believe we have set ourselves up to ensure the health and safety of all those who attend Plett Rage 2025 to the best of our ability.

We want to assure you that we have strict policies in place to prevent drug use on our premises. In fact, compared to many other festivals in South Africa, drug use is extremely low at Plett Rage. We take the safety and security of all attendees very seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal drugs. Our bouncers and undercover police keep a watchful eye out for any potential threats to our ban on illicit substances.

We want you to feel confident that your child will be safe and secure while having a great time at Plett Rage. If any individual is found to be in possession or under the influence of illegal substances, they will be immediately removed from the premises and dealt with by the authorities. We are committed to promoting a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees, and we will continue to implement measures to prevent drug use and ensure the well-being of all who attend Plett Rage.
